Woman Sentenced for Arson

A Zanesville woman received her sentence in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court Monday for setting her home on fire.

Judge Kelly Cottrill sentenced 50-year-old Sondra Caplinger to five years community control and 100 hours of public service. Caplinger attempted to burn down her Linden Avenue home, after a divorce, in October 2008. She later pled guilty to one count of attempted aggravated arson.

In addition to her sentence Judge Cottrill ordered her to under go counseling and pay restitution.
