Pedestrian hit skip crash in Cambridge
CAMBRIDGE, Ohio–The State Highway Patrol is investigating a hit skip accident that injured a pedestrian.
The accident happened at 3:22 p.m. Friday on the Interstate 70 westbound off ramp at State Route 209.
Authorities said a pedestrian, identified as 42-year-old George Bilbrey of Akron was standing at the top of the ramp when a semi-tractor trailer made a left turn, south onto State Route 209 from the ramp.
Bilbrey was knocked down and the semi-truck continued without stopping.
Authorities said Bilbrey was airlifted from Southeastern Medical Center in Cambridge to Grant Hospital in Columbus.
