Fatal accident on State Route 146

ZANESVILLE, Ohio–The State Highway Patrol is investigating a one vehicle fatal accident.

It happened around 3:30 Wednesday afternoon on State Route 146 near the LA-Z Acres Campground in Licking Township.

According to Sergeant Jeffrey Jirles, a 2016 Dodge Dart operated by 61-year-old Kathy Burleson of Westerville drove off the right side of the roadway. The vehicle then drove into a ditch, struck a driveway entrance and went airborne. The car landed on its top. Burleson was pronounced dead at the scene by the Muskingum County Coroner. Jirles said Burleson was wearing a safety belt at the time of the crash. An autopsy has been ordered and the incident remains under investigation.  Assisting at the scene of the crash was the Sheriff’s Office and the Falls Township Fire Department.
