Frightfully Fun Time at the Rec Center

Get ready for a ghoulishly good time at an event for the whole family this weekend.
The Muskingum Recreation Center is holding their first ever Family Fall Fest and Zombie Fun Run on Sunday, October 14.
The day features food vendors, a bounce house, face painting and games for the whole family.
“It’s October. It’s getting close to Halloween and we wanted to do something interesting for the kids, where there used to be haunted houses and trails that you could go to and we felt this would be something fun for the kids to do and also health and wellness based,” said Libby Hardwick the Muskingum Recreation Center’s aquatics and sports manager.
During the run participants will have to out maneuver the spooky creatures on a one and a half mile trail.
The Rec Center is currently recruiting more zombies to take part in the event.
“It’s quite fun. Getting the staff’s moral, finding additional volunteers to help run an event such as this because it’s not just a one person band. It has to be a community that comes together to do an event like this,” said Hardwick.
The Family Fall Fest takes place this Sunday from 12-4pm. Wrist bands for the event are on sale now. The are $10 for one, $18 for two, $24 for three and $5 for each one after three.
The Zombie Race will start at 5pm. Registration is open now and is $15, $20 if you would like a t-shirt.
