New Lexington Man Loses Life In ATV Accident

A New Lexington man is dead following an ATV accident in Perry County last night.

According to the Lancaster Post of Ohio State Highway Patrol, 46 year old Arthur Thompson of New Lexington was killed when he was riding an ATV northbound on Stone Church Hollow Road in New Straitsville at 10:30 last night when Thompson failed to maintain control of the 4 wheeler, drove off the left side of the roadway and then struck a large rock and tree.

Thompson was taken to Hocking Valley Community Hospital in Logan where he pronounced dead.

Thompson was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident and alcohol does not appear to have been a factor in the crash that remains under investigation.
