Wesley Chapel Home Total Loss
A Muskingum County home is a total loss after an early morning fire and now the State Fire Marshall’s Office is looking for the cause.
The Newton Township Fire Department received a call about a fire on 3620 Wesley Chapel road just before six o’clock this morning.
“Our unit arrived at 6:05 and found the structure was heavily involved in fire, ” says Fire Chief Allen Deaver.
Deaver says six local fire crews responded to the fire, which took about an hour and a half to extinguish. He says no one was home at the time of the fire.
“Initial reports were that there was, but we have accounted for everybody that lives here. So, that was a good thing, ” says Deaver.
Deaver says that when the homeowner, Dave Morris, was notified of the incident and arrived at the scene, he had to be transported to the hospital because of chest pains brought on by seeing what was left of his home.
The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
Deaver says the fire is still under investigation.
