Mentally disabled patients lose recreational building in fire

Fire destroyed a Coshocton County building Tuesday evening.

Jones Metal owned the West Lafayette Building that went up into flames around 6:15.

Lafayette Meadows Habilitation Program for developmentally disabled adults rented the Center Street building, according to West Lafayette Fire officials.

The building served as a craft center where pottery was made by the patients in the habilitation program.

Several emergency crews assisted the West Lafayette Fire Department in extinguishing the blaze.
