Teen Falls to His Death at State Park

A Reynoldsburg teen is dead after falling about 50 feet in Hocking Hills State Park.

Ohio Department of Natural Resources spokeswoman, Beth Ruth, says 15-year-old Jacob Walls strayed from one of the trails, where he fell. It happened on Friday around two p.m. near Old Man’s Cave.

Ruth says crews arrived relatively quickly on the scene. She says Walls was unresponsive when authorities arrived.

He was transported to Hocking Valley Community Hospital and then transferred to Columbus Nationwide Children’s Hospital, where Walls was pronounced dead.

Ruth says this incident is a reminder for visitors to stay on marked trails at State Parks.
