Making It to 100!

A local woman says she doesn’t feel any older, but she has crossed a major age-barrier mark.

Eloise Tilton officially turned 100-years-old yesterday, but her birthday party was held this afternoon at the Helen Purcell Home in Zanesville. She says it was so special to have her family and friends there with her for this celebration.

" (It’s) wonderful because they are there, you have someone. You don’t have to depend always on yourself and be alone you know. I love my family and what they have done for me," says Tilton.

It was also a day of reflection for Tilton. She says she lost her father at a young age. So, she and her brother relied a lot on her mother, who she says taught her so much about life.

"Her loving kindness to all. Yes, she was a good person, " says Tilton.

Tilton was in good spirits and even joked, saying she’s not sure about having another birthday passed 100.
