Local Farmers Excited For the Fair

The Farmer’s Market moved downtown today due to the Muskingum County Fair. Some of the local growers are excited to be entering their home grown creations in the fair.

Kristen Baughman is one such grower who has been selling her produce for three years at the Farmer’s Market. She entered canned goods, flowers and vegetables into the fair and is hoping to win biggest pepper. She says the secret to great produce is dedication.

“Spending a lot of time in the garden. You just have to keep after things and be diligent out there and pull weeds and I have been working hard all summer,” says Kristen Baughman.

Despite the economic times, Kristen says her sales have been good this year. She says Zanesville is very supportive of its own.

“Zanesville is really good about coming out and supporting the farmers market on Saturday and Wednesday downtown,” thanks Baughman.

The Farmer’s Market will return to the fairgrounds when this year’s blue ribbon event is over.
