Benefit for Bosco
Drivers be on the look out Friday for volunteers at the corner of Maple Avenue and Bell Street collecting money for Bosco.
From 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. September 4th, at the Wal Mart intersection, you can make donations to help the Zanesville Police Department’s K-9 fund.
“The police department is a vital asset to our community as well as the K-9 division as well and a lot of people aren’t aware that the K-9 division is not funded by tax dollars and the city itself just can’t afford to deal without such a strong tool as the K-9 unit,” says Keith Hamilton, organizer.
The money collected will be used toward Bosco’s medical care and any other needs of the K-9 unit.
Officer Schiele’s cousin says their family has been touched by the community’s response since the shooting.
“The public outpouring has just been tremendous. He’s really excited and it’s very heartfelt and thinks thank you to everyone and he’s just up there with Bosco trying to help make it through,” says Ryan Sharrer.
If you’d like to volunteer to collect money Friday meet at the Huntington bank parking lot on the corner of Maple and Bell.
Donations can be made to the K-9 fund at anytime at local Huntington Banks and soon donations will be accepted online at the Bucks for Bosco Web site. To go there click here.
