“Party On The Block” Ready To Celebrate!

Labor Day weekend means celebration.

The first annual Party On The Block kicks off today behind the Muskingum County Welcome Center. Organizers say it is celebration of community and wholesome family fun.

“We are having a petting zoo, pony rides, of course all the fun festival foods, I keep getting that in. We also have an artisan market place going on,” tells Vicki LeVeck the Director of the Muskingum County Covention Facilities Authority.

The Party On The Block is raffling off an autographed hockey stick from the Columbus Blue Jackets hockey team. There are also tables set up for girls interested in the Miss Southeastern Ohio pageant and Fresh Face Model Search. They are even taking in donations for Bosco.

“It is all about celebrating the pride of the community, the spirit of the community and providing opportunity for the folks that, during a time when we are all kind of sad, realizing that we are all facing some difficult economic times; this is a time to celebrate what we do have all the positive things going on and that is why we are having a celebration and why we are calling it Party On The Block,” says LeVeck.

Admission is completely free and the party on the block runs Friday and Saturday til dark.
