On a night where some area teams had to dodge the raindrops, Week One of the High School football season providing the drama that local football fans have been waiting for. Zanesville jumped all over Newark, returning the opening kick 92 yards, never looking back in a 51-6 win, that was mercifully called due to lightning. In the upset of the week, New Lexington loses a one point game in overtime to Fairfield-Union at Jim Rockwell Stadium
