Bidding Opened for Sonora Sanitary Sewer Project

The Muskingum County Commissioners opened bidding Thursday on the Sonora Sanitary Sewer project.

The County Engineer estimates the project will cost $900,000. The commissioners took four bids ranging from $816,994.91 to $938,968.02. The County Engineer will make a recommendation tomorrow and a temporary decision will be made by the commissioners.

A swift decision needs to be made to meet the deadline to apply for funds from the American Re-Investment and Recovery Act. The Sonora Sanitary Sewer project will start in December or January and be complete by July 31st. It will affect 60 homes.
