Dogs Show Their Moves
Hundreds of dogs are showing their best moves this weekend.
The Parkersburg Obedience Training Club, sanctioned by the American Kennel Club (AKC), is holding a dog agility competition at the Fieldhouse. Dogs ran, jumped and balanced at blinding speed as each competed against a pre-set course time. Jennifer Scott and her Boston terrier, Chase, are hoping for a perfect run.
“It is so much fun to compete in agility and it is a three day trial and we wanted to come in and get our chance at a double Q which is two qualifying runs and it is a beautiful facility and a great town and we are having a great time,” says Scott.
Vendors were on hand offering everything from dog coats to dog massages. Divisions are broken up into Novice, Open and Excellent. Cheryl Schiml and her Australian shepard , Dylan, are in the Excellent division and very excited.
“My dog got her 5th MAC today which is master agility champion from the AKC,” tells Schiml.
Schiml and Dylan were invited to the Eukanuba Invitational in California. Sunday is the last day for the dog agility competition at the Fieldhouse and admission to watch is free.
