Forget Sweetest Day?

How many of you forgot that today was Sweetest Day?

If so, you’re not alone.

Flowerama Assistant Manager, Lindsay Rucker says that’s why the store had a little outside help…as a reminder.

“It started out as a european holiday, which was a chocolate holiday, but it’s just kind of evolved into a flower holiday, ” says Rucker.

Rucker says the holiday is similar to Valentine’s Day.

“This is just another day for people to tell each other how much they love each other, i guess, and be sweet about it, ” says Rucker.

While Flowerama was busy today, Rucker says sales don’t match that of Valentine’s Day.

“We’ve been selling a lot of our dozen roses cause we have a great price on them, and we’ve been selling our singing balloons, a lot of our little candy things, bears, and actually we’ve sold a couple of planters, ” says Rucker.

She says the people coming in today seemed to be buying smaller gifts and planned on breaking out the big bucks in February.
