Decision Made About ZMHA’s Phil Allen
The fate of the executive director of the Zanesville Metropolitan Housing Authority has been decided. The board announced the firing of Phil Allen who was arrested earlier this month on drug charges.
"The board moved today to unanimously to dismiss Phil Allen from the Zanesville Metropolitan Housing Authority. That was the action the board took today and the other action the board took today was too appoint Steve Randles effective immediately as the interim executive director," says Gerald Tiberio Jr. the ZMHA lawyer.
Allen left abruptly from the meeting through a side door. The board says they will make a decision next week as to the new permanent director.
Allen was arrested at the Columbus Airport October 3rd for possession of drug paraphernalia. A TSA employee found two glass metal pipes with residue on them and a plastic baggie which tested positive for cocaine. Allen’s court date is set for November 3rd in Franklin County.
