Free Dental Day Friday!

A South Zanesville dentist is using his skills to help the community smile a little brighter.

Friday is Free Dental Day at Hawkins Complete Dental Service located on Maysville Pike. Dr. Hawkins and his staff will help 50 people on a first come, first serve basis. In years past, people have lined up outside the office in the wee hours of the morning to get a spot.

"When we have done it in the years before, I think actually we did get a phone call today and somebody said they would be here by 4:30 in the morning, so we are going to start handing the numbers out at 7:30 in the morning," says Cori Wilkes a dental Hygienist.

The free dental day will provide one service such as a cleaning, extraction or filling per person. Wilkes says Dr. Hawkins and his staff understand not everyone can afford dental care and they are looking forward to donating their time to help.

"We have been very fortunate here for the past couple years, we know the economy is bad right now and people are having a tough time and we want to be able to help those people out that needed help," says Wilkes.

The free dental day at Hawkins Complete Dental Service begins officially at  8 A.M. Friday. But people can line up anytime Thursday night.
