People Stock Up For Christmas Dinner

Last minute shopping isn’t just for mall shoppers.

At Riesbeck’s Pick & Save off Underwood in Zanesville, many people are stocking up for their Christmas dinners.

"They are grabbing a lot of the last minute things, a lot of the perishables the celery, milk, fresh bread, just about everything they can do to finish up their meal with," says Rich Daughtery the store manager.

Daughtery says Bloomer’s Baskets, ham and turkeys and fresh cookies are big sellers.  Also, this is a record year for the custom made fruit and wine baskets. Daughtery says people often wait til the last minute to buy food so it is as fresh as possible and the store is ready for the evening rush.

"I think a lot of people are still out shopping for that last minute gift and then they will be in here to finish up what they need to get done," says Daughtery.

Daughtery says he did notice more people shopping for Christmas dinner this year, than last year. Pick & Save will be closed for Christmas.
