Recognizing Child Abuse in April
Health departments across the state of Ohio agree that child abuse is a major problem.
Statistics show that Child Protection Services deals with about three million kids each year who are allegedly suffering from abuse. It also indicates that this abuse can lead to serious injury or even death, especially for kids who are younger than four.
Licking County Health Department Commissioner, Joe Ebel, says most child abuse cases stem from drug or alcohol abuse, poor economic situations, or stress.
The department does offer a parenting program . If you would like to learn more about it, visit www.ohiohelpmegrow.org.
