Changes to Local Museum

As the National Road/Zane Grey Museum opens for a new season, there are some changes to the facility that will welcome visitors.

The museum has a new entrance from the front of the building to make access easier. The pottery exhibit has been re-designed, and the gift shop area is experiencing some improvements. Friends of the Museum President Kevin Coveney says the changes are almost unexpected.

"Due to budget cuts that began back in about 2002, we have been struggling just to keep this facility open, " says Coveney.

Coveney says most historical sites have been suffering from cuts.

To celebrate the museums’s success, area leaders and history preserves took part in a ribbon cutting ceremony this afternoon.
