Accident Sends One to Hospital

One person is sent to the hospital after an accident on State Route 93 Friday.

It happened around 5:45 p.m. at the intersection of State Route 93 and Old Adamsville Road in Washington Township.

According to Trooper Todd Henry with the Zanesville Post of the State Highway Patrol, 55-year-old Earl West of Zanesville was traveling northbound on State Route 93 when he turned in front of a southbound vehicle driven by 28-year-old Jeffrey Paynter of Zanesville.

Paynter was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Henry says West was cited for failure to yield when turning left.
