Small Businesses Adapt to Health Care Reform

With the new Health Care Reform comes many changes that can be overwhelming and confusing, especially for small business owners.

45 attended a presentation at John McIntire Library today given by Carrie Haughawout. She told small business owners what they can expect and how they can be prepared for the impact that Health Care Reform will have on their businesses.

"That does go into effect this year until when they file their taxes the next year, they may be eligible for a tax credit that is very important one of the first things we mention."

Although there are some immediate benefits to the law, Haughawout says she worries about the long-term effects.

"So if costs are going up and they’re already very high, is this really a sustainable program," says Haughawout.

She says there are many things to consider, and to fully understand the law, she encourages business owners to get involved and informed. For information, she says to check out the Ohio chamber of Commerce Website at www.ohiochamber.com.
