Head-on Collision on Northpointe Drive

Two people are taken to the hospital by Medflight after a head-on crash on Northpointe Drive. The Zanesville Police Department along with the Zanesville Fire Department were on the scene. It happened around 1:45 this afternoon.

Sergeant Chris Rice of the Zanesville Police Department tells us that a black Saturn was traveling southbound on Northpointe Drive when it attempted to pass multiple cars in front of it. It then struck a Zembra Bros, Inc. dump truck traveling in the northbound lane. The truck proceeded to burst into flames.

"The driver of the car was transported by Community Ambulance to Good Samaritan Hospital. There was a front-seat passenger. She was also transported to Good Samaritan Hospital by Falls Township and she’ll subsequently be life flighted," says Sergeant Rice.

Kevin Malloy of Stevens Point, Wisconsin was the driver of the black Saturn. There was one passenger in the car. The driver of the Zemba Bros. truck, Christopher Davidson of Philo, Ohio, is taking himself to the hospital according to Sergeant Rice.

The accident remains under investigation.
