Fire Department Disbanded

A group of first responders says they’ll no longer be responding to emergency calls.

According to Muskingum Township firefighter Richard Greiner, Thursday at a meeting Muskingum Township trustees disbanded the Muskingum Township Fire Department.

Greiner says they will no longer be responding to fire or EMS calls in the area and Falls Township will be taking over their calls.

Greiner says they are very upset about the situation, but feel there’s nothing they can do to reverse the decision.
