Fatal Crash in Fairfield County

 A Fairfield County man is dead after an early morning accident.

It happened around 4 a.m. on BIS Road, near Ross Road.

The Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office says a vehicle went off the road and struck a tree.

Sheriff Dave Phalen says 22-year-old Allen Nutter was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene. The other occupant in the vehicle, 22-year-old Aaron Kline, was taken to Fairfield Medical Center where he was treated for his injuries and released.

Phalen says alcohol may be a factor in the crash.

It remains under investigation.
