Long-Term Care Centers Being Sold

Genesis Healthcare System has announced who will be purchasing Genesis Extended Care and Rehab in Zanesville and Genesis Health and Rehab in McConnelsville.

A Louisville-based company called Trilogy Health Services will be the new owner. Genesis announced at the beginning of this year that they were intending to sell the two facilities to concentrate on other healthcare aspects.

"Trying to really change our focus to be much more focused on some of the core businesses and also then to reinvest those dollars in some of our core services," says Genesis Chief Financial Officer Paul Masterson.

Although the sale will affect employees, genesis says that they selected Trilogy Health Services because they have similar values in providing quality services.

"Very similar mission with respect to how they treat their employees, how they care about the residents and the patients," says Masterson.

Trilogy has committed to retaining as many current employees as possible. The sale is expected to be complete within ninety days following the finalization of legal details.
