Carl L. Conant, 1936 – 2018

Carl L. Conant, 82 years of age, of Zanesville, formerly of Lancaster, entered in the Kingdom of Heaven at 12:05 a.m. Sunday, October 28th, 2018, at Zanesville Altercare following a short illness. He was born Thursday, September 17th, 1936, in Rockbridge. He was the son of George Palmer Conant and Laura L. (Hook) Conant and was married to the love of his life, Mabel E. (Thornton) Conant.

Carl spent his entire life in dedication to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. You could always find him enjoying his worship and sharing the word in many churches throughout the area. He enjoyed ministering in every aspect from feeding and preaching to the homeless in Columbus, to jail ministry. He was a member of several churches and seemed to be at home the most with services provided by local evangelist Gary Clum. He also loved worship at Miracle Hill in Lancaster.

Carl is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years; Mabel Conant; three children: Monta Sue (Darrel Sowards) Johnson of Clarington; Elizabeth Ilene Conant of Columbus and Daniel O’Bryan Conant of San Antonio; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; three sisters: Mona Romine and Patty (Pat) Patterson; both of Gratiot; and Laura Romine of Willow Wood.

In addition to parents, Carl was preceded in death by one son; Steve Conant; and two brothers; Gene & Robert Conant.

Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 1st, 2018, at the Hillis, Combs, & Nestor Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, where funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Poplar Fork Cemetery.
