ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue rocked the Nation last week and one local artist is inviting members of the Zanesville community to come together and remember those who lost their lives.

Nora Daniel is the featured artist this month at the Zanesville Appalachian Art Project and wants to invite the public to a vigil during the first Friday Art Walk for the Squirrel Hill community. A large part of the display Daniel has at ZAAP will be a memorial in the front windows and she said she’d like to community to add to it as well.

“We’re going to have material for people to make cards and signs so that the members of the community there can realize that there are many people who are thinking of them,” said Daniel.

Daniel said she has included paintings of bridges among the candles and flowers to symbolize communication and the coming together of society.

“I have a couple of paintings of bridges, which signifies building bridges, because that’s what our community needs right now,” said Daniel.

Daniel said all are welcome to the vigil that will take place from 5 to 8 at ZAAP, and that she plans to donate a portion of her sales to the Tree of Life Synagogue.
