Farmers Market Extends Into December

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – If you’re worried about going to the Farmers Market due to the weather, now you don’t have to.

The Farmer’s Market has teamed up with Weasel Boy Brewery to create an indoor Farmers Market at the brewery. The market will take place every Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The mission of the Farmers Market is to promote local agriculture within the area. The market makes sure healthy and locally grown produce is easily accessible to consumers.

“So for the first time now we are extending it for another six weeks. If this goes well we’ll do it in the Spring as well. And so we are moving towards having a place where people can buy locally grown produce year round,” said Farmers Market Board Member, Suellen Skinner.

Skinner believes the board really pushed for this indoor market to take place to give vendors the opportunity to sell their products for a longer period of time.

“I think partly the members of the board, we have some folks who’ve had a lot of experience with year round markets and extended markets. They see that is the wave of the future for markets. You know, our market has been a real traditional market, like I said it’s been here for 35 years,” she said.

The indoor Farmers Market will last until December 15th at the Weasel Boy Brewery.
