Pet of the Week: Cubby

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Animal Shelter Society is always looking for families to adopt their adorable animals.

The pet of the week is Cubby. He is an eight year old dog and is a Miniature Pinscher mix. Cubby does have a few health issues with his vision and heart, and is also a three legged dog. But Cubby is a gentle and adorable pet nonetheless. He loves to be held and makes for a wonderful lap dog. Executive Director of Animal Shelter Society, Jody Murray, said Cubby makes a great companion.

“Would do wonderful with a single person who wanted some company, wanted a dog to literally lay on your lap in the evening while you’re reading or watching TV or whatever. He loves everybody,” Murray said.

Cubby’s adoption fee is 35 dollars and the shelter would be happy to send home a bag of food with him as well. The Shelter wants to find a home that would be willing to take on an older dog.

“Taking on older dogs can be very rewarding. I think they deserve it. I think that taking care of an older dog is a wonderful experience,” Murray added.

The Animal Shelter Society is hosting their “Twelve Days of Christmas” so cats are only twelve dollars to adopt. And if you would like to support the shelter, they will be holding their Comedy Club Fundraiser on January 12th.
