ZANESVILLE, Ohio – A local non profit organization is about to make things sweet.

The PAWS group is hosting their annual PAWS Cookie Walk tomorrow. This is your chance to buy homemade cookies for the holidays, and even homemade pet treats. The cookie walk is to raise funds to provide Muskingum County residents affordable, low-cost spaying and neutering.

“This is for PAWS spay and neuters assistance program. We assist seniors, disabled, and low income families in Muskingum County get their dogs and cats spayed and neutered. There’s a very great need in this community,” said President of PAWS, Teresa Hildebrand.

Hildebrand said the group doubled their amount of sugar cookies this year due to its popularity. Cookies fill one container that weigh one pound and cost ten dollars. PAWS will also hold a silent and Chinese auction.

“This is our major fundraiser for the year. And this is what supports our project,” she added.

The Cookie Walk will be held at the Leasure Masonic Park Building Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.
