ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Christ’s Table provided some ways for members of the community to stay warm this winter.

New California Presbyterian Church has been collecting blankets, coats, hats, and gloves since early November. They wanted to find a way to help the community and bring people together.

Pastor Earl Dunbar said, “It’s important for us because we’re trying to be Christ. We’re trying to be him and remind folks that he hasn’t forgotten and that’s what we’re supposed to do. That’s being missionary, we’re to be helping and being here.”

Coming from Marysville, Ohio the members of the New California Presbyterian Church enjoy talking with local residents. They are in Zanesville three times a year to help anyone they can.

“It’s a great group. I mean I just love doing this with them and it’s great to meet folks and somebody when they went through asked, which we love this, they said how much is it and we get to say no it’s a gift,” Pastor Dunbar said.

They had over 150 coats and blankets to hand out on Monday, December 17th. He said that people would eat at Christ’s Table and then walk next door to get a ticket and pick out what they want or need to stay warm this holiday season.
