Pet of the Week: Marigold

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Growing season might be over, but one flower is looking for her forever home.
Meet Marigold. She is one year old gray and white cat who was found in front of the Animal Shelter Society. Assistant Director Russ Denny said she was only three pounds when they found her a little over a month ago, but has since doubled her weight and become quiet the lap cat. Denny said Marigold would be a great fit for any family.
“I think just about any kind of family,” said Denny. “She seems pretty calm, of course when you get her home she’s going to take a few weeks to get used to her surroundings, just like an animal coming out of the shelter, but she’s just very calm.”
Denny said Marigold has had her surgery, all of her shots, and is ready to find a good home. He said because she is a sponsored cat, she has a reduced adoption fee.
“All of our adult cats right now, six months or older, are $25 through December 31st,” said Denny. “Marigold here has a special price, she is only $5 adoption price. She was sponsored by Terry and Diane Goss.”
Denny also wants to remind everyone they have their comedy club night coming up at Bryan Place on January 12th and tickets are available at the shelter. For more information about comedy club night, or to adopt Marigold, you can call the Animal Shelter Society at (740) 452-1077.
