ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Christ’s Table was open for locals on New Years Day and every holiday that falls within Monday through Friday.

Christ’s Table was open from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and they were serving the typical New Year’s pork and sauerkraut. Candi Jones, Office Manager, said some people may not have a family to be with on the holidays so they show up there for some company.

“There’s a lot of people that don’t have family, that really rely on us to be open. They don’t have a place to go so it makes it difficult, especially when they don’t have a lot of money to spend and we provide the food for them,” Jones said.

Depending on what the holiday is, usually determines if there will be a lot of people there for food and good company or not. She said it is really important for them to be available to those who rely on them all year.

“We serve regardless of a holiday. We feel that it’s important that we are open and here for everybody so there just like an extended family and we feel it’s important to spend time with them during the holidays as well,” Jones said.
