Homicide Suspect Arrested
Newark Police arrest a suspect involved in an October homicide case.
Police said on Tuesday they executed a search warrant on narcotics at 44 Popular Avenue. Arrested was 46-year-old Brady R. Workman and 31-year-old Lane Gibson, both of Newark.
Workman was arrested on a warrant for homicide in the city of Newark.
Police said on October 22, of last year, officers responded to 81 Summitt Street where they found an unresponsive 57-year-old Kelly Barber, who was bedridden at the time, suffering from severe head trauma.
She was taken to the hospital where she passed away.
An autopsy revealed Barber’s head trauma was caused by non-accidental means.
Workman her caregiver and live in boyfriend was suspected to have caused the injuries.
