Local Dentist Hopes to Deliver a Smile

A local dentist is hoping to put a big smile on the face of those in need this holiday season.

Doctor Charles Hawkins and his staff hope patients and the community throw their support behind the office’s peanut butter food drive. All food collected will be given to the Salvation Army.

"We’re just always trying to give back to the community," explained Office Manager Abby Fitz. "This is just a great way with Thanksgiving on its way."

For every jar of peanut butter a $1.00 donation will be made to the Salvation Army. Staff said they’re trying hard to beat last year’s record.

"Last year we did 100 jars, $100.00 donated," said Fitz. "We’re always looking to beat last year’s goal."

The entryway to Dr. Hawkins office will be open Sunday during the South Zanesville Christmas Parade for those wanting to drop off peanut butter or other non perishable food items.
