Z-ville Mayor Gets Letter About Changes
Zanesville Mayor Butch Zwelling gets a letter that is calling for major changes. It happened Tuesday. Councilman Jeff Tilton tells Whiz News that he along with Councilmen Andy Roberts and David Tarbert sent the letter to Zwelling listing changes they would like to see for city government. Tilton says they sent the letter because they felt they were not being heard. Tilton says among the changes they would be firing the Fire Chief, freeze wages, end longevity pay, change who does union negotiating and closing Secrest Auditorium. The idea to make up for a 500,000 dollar deficit. Tilton says they are not speaking for all of City Council…it is just their opinion. Mayor Zwelling says he plans to make some comments about "the demands" in the letter at Monday’s City Council Meeting.
