Last Minute Grocery Shopping
Some locals are also finishing up their last minute grocery shopping too.
Shoppers swarmed the Northside’s Pick ‘N Save this morning as they finished their holiday meal planning. Store Manager Rich Daugherty says Christmas Eve is one of the store’s busiest days where people will buy all of their perishable items like milk, bread, and fresh produce.
"We have a pretty loyal base. Most of them shop here on a regular basis two or three times a week, sometimes two or three times a day, so they come in. They know where everything is at so they can get in and get out. People at this time of the year are in a hurry," said Daugherty
Daugherty says with the economy not being at its best right now, people are more than likely to be staying at home for the holidays.
"Everyone is in a pretty good holiday spirit this year even with the way the economy is. I think a lot of people, with the economy being the way it is, are actually cooking at home and getting families back together again," said Daugherty.
Pick ‘N Save will be closed tomorrow for Christmas and will re-open Sunday at 6 AM.
