Licking County Murder Suspect Dies

Officials say a man suspected in a Licking County murder has died.

A Spokesperson for Grant Medical Center in Columbus confirms that 43-year-old Philip Mascari died Tuesday from a self inflicted gun shot wound.

The Licking County Sheriff’s Office reports that deputies approached Mascari near Van Fossen Road around 4:00 a.m Tuesday while he was sitting in his car and he shot himself in the head.

Mascari is accused of the murder of Katherine Russ.

Russ was found dead in her St. Louisville home Monday night.
