Big Games Provide Big Performances on Saturday
It wasn’t easier for the Zanesville Blue Devils the second time around against East Liverpool, but it was still a victory. ZHS grabs their sixth win in a row, defeating the Potters for the second time this season, 69-58. Zanesville started out sluggish and didn’t have the intensity that has defined their play in recent weeks, but still managed to defeat the Potters for the second time this season, this time while they were at full strength, with the return of PG Marky Tompkins. Tanner Gibson led all scorers with 25, matching his and the team’s season high in points on the year. Rian Burrell added 16 points, while Cole Carpenter scored 12 points and pulled down 11 rebounds, his third double-double of the season. The Blue Devils will now play four straight on the road, starting next Friday at River View.
