Young Spelling Bee Champion

For the first time ever, third graders were allowed into the Zanesville School District spelling bee.

Third grader Marijane Davis competed against students who were as old as 14 and won the spelling bee by spelling raspberry correctly. Davis goes to Zane Grey Elementary and has been practicing for months. Along with winning a trophy, she also won a $100 savings bond.

"I feel perfect – I feel great i feel fantastic – I am excited " said Marijane and Kelly Davis.

Davis’ mother say she may let her daughter miss school tomorrow to celebrate. The runner-up and third place winner also received trophies and saving bonds.
