Safe in Prague

An update on a local student stuck in the Egyptian turmoil. 21 year old Stephanie Wiseman graduated from River View High School in 2008. She’s in her senior year at George Washington University and chose to study abroad in Egypt this semester.

Chuck Wiseman, Stephanie’s father says she is required to study abroad as part of her Boren Scholar Program. Wiseman arrived in Egypt one week before the protests began. It took multiple attempts to get Stephanie and twenty one other students flown out of the area last night and safely into Prague.

Tuesday her father says her cell phone was off and they waited for any news. Then they received a text message saying she maybe on a flight back into the States late tonight. The university will try everything possible to salvage Wiseman’s semester. Wiseman will not likely return to Egypt for study and may study in Jordan.
