Zanesville Man Seriously Injured in U.S. 22 Crash

A Zanesville man is taken by Med-Flight to a Columbus hospital after crashing his vehicle on U.S. 22 in Newton Township.

The accident happened around 3 p.m. Thursday.

Trooper Steven Williams with the Zanesville Post of the State Highway Patrol says 26-year-old Jeffrey Dunwoody was travelling east on U.S. 22 near State Route 345 when his car veered off the right side of the road.

Williams say Dunwoody overcorrected and then went off the left side of the road and over a steep embankment.

He says Dunwoody was ejected from his vehicle and when crews arrived on the scene they found him pinned underneath the vehicle.

He was taken by Med-Flight to O.S.U. Medical Center.

The accident remains under investigation.
