Shots Fired in Zanesville Neighborhood

Shots are fired Wednesday evening after a fight in a Zanesville neighborhood.

Officer Shane Starkey with the Zanesville Police Department says around 7 p.m. Wednesday evening, they received a call about a fight that broke out near the Cuddy Dixon park on Hedgewood Avenue between several parties. Starkey then says a few minutes later, a call came in saying shots were fired.

Hedgewood Avenue resident Tori Johnson says she didn’t hear the shots fired but did hear commotion outside her home.

"I just heard people yelling and I came outside and they were beating up a kid and there were like ten guys beating him up and they threw him into the fence across the street and then they threw him into this red car and then they all yelled for him to get back in," said Johnson.

Witnesses say anywhere between 20 and 30 people could have been involved in the incident. Police are looking for a red or green Grand-Am and area hospitals have been put on standby. If you have any information, you are being asked to call the Zanesville Police Department
