Recognizing Those Who Give

WHIZ is recognizing another recipient of the 2011 Women of Achievement Awards.

Linda Morrow won the Muskingum Family "Y" Lifetime Service Award. She has been a professor at Muskingum University since 1988 and was a former teacher for East Muskingum School District. She said it’s an honor to have been recognized for her work in the community.

"I just try to encourage people all the time and try to be consistent about that and support them in any way that I can and those around me do that with me and that’s what’s made all the difference in the world with me so I thank all those who have been a part of mentoring me over all the years," said Jenkins.

Morrow encourages other members of the public to take time out of their schedules to volunteer. She said more can be accomplished as a group than individually.

"What we can do is build on each others strengths and so the product is so much, not just stronger but more creative, more innovative and better able to meet needs because we have looked at what the situation is from a variety of perspectives," she said.

All award recipients will be honored at a special dinner being held at Ohio University-Zanesville on April 20th.
