Z-ville Man Sentenced For Growing Marijuana

A Zanesville man was sentenced today in connection with growing marijuana. 51-year-old Alfred Stires went before Muskingum County Common Pleas Judge Mark Fleegle and received two years of community control, ordered to successfully complete the Genesis Recovery Program and to complete the Introduction to Community Control Program. Judge Fleegle says if those stipulations are not met then Stires will have to serve 10 months in prison. The Prosecutor’s Office says in August of last year Muskingum County Sheriff’s Deputies found marijuana plants growing outside Stires home. Last month Stires’ son, 25-year-old Michael Stires received a similar sentence in this case.
