Red Cross Postpones Golf Fundraiser

The recent soggy and dreary weather has forced the Red Cross to postpone its annual golf tournament fundraiser for disaster services.

Red Cross Executive Director Marlene Henderson says the new date for the event is Thursday, May 19th. And now more teams have time to sign up.

"If you don’t have a team yet, you still have time to get in, so if you think May 19th will work out better for you to join our golf outing, just give us a call here at the office and there’s still time to register for a team," said Henderson.

Henderson says the outing has a variety of incentives for those coming out to tee it up.

"First place team is 400 dollars. It’s 100 per person plus a round of golf at Jaycees. We have of course on hole 17, a chance to head a hole in one and win a car from Jeff Drennen," said Henderson.

For more information on signing up as a team, you can call the Muskingum Valley Red Cross. The money raised is used to fund their Disaster Service Response Team.
