Perry County Fires Under Investigation

The State Fire Marshall’s Office says it’s investigating two weekend fires in Perry County. Public Information Officer Shane Cartmill says the former Bristol schoolhouse at 5606 Marietta Road in New Lexington was heavily damaged by fire Saturday night. Cartmill says his officers are also investigating a fire at an abandoned home at 9412 State Route 93 in New Straitsville. It happened on Sunday.   Investigators have not ruled out accidental or intentional causes in either case. No injuries were reported.
