Fatal School Bus Video Released

In what could be the final chapter to the tragic fatal Tri-Valley school bus accident that claimed an area child’s life – the video of the incident has now been made available.

Six-year-old Kasey King died in that incident. Tri-Valley School District Superintendent Mark Neal says the Highway Patrol released the video once their investigation was finished and Monday Neal made the video available to the media.

The accident happened last June on State Route 60 North near the Muskingum County Speedway.

The driver of the bus, 48-year-old Carol Oler was sentenced on March 31st to 30 days in jail for vehicular manslaughter and failure to control. Superintendent Neal says she was fired at the most recent school board meeting.

The family of Kasey King — at the time of the sentencing — thanked the highway patrol, their attorney and the Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office for their work on the case and said they were on their way to closure with the case.

Kasey King was the first child passenger to die in an Ohio school bus crash in 22 years.
